Abstract

*This deliverable has not yet been officially approved by the European Commission and should be considered a draft This deliverable describes a cybersecurity framework developed for modern distribution and transmission hybrid AC/DC grids. Traditional centralized grid management systems are vulnerable to single points of failure and targeted cyberattacks. To address these structural weaknesses, the project proposes a decentralized network architecture. This framework uses idle computational resources to achieve virtual redundancy, supporting continuous operation during primary system failures. The developments of the frameworks include the novel virtual redundancy method by the Last Will Letter (LWL) algorithm and the secured Second-Layer Ultra-Fast (SLUF) channel.
