Object-Centric Event Data for Order Handling (Minimal Example)

Abstract
An object-centric event data set created for the Summer School on Process Mining in Bolzano, 29 June - 3 July 2026. The set of tables was created to provide a minimal example of object-centric event data set. This is not provided as an OCEL 2.0 input, but as raw, but minimalistic, data to be uploaded in a process mining platform supporting Object-Centric Process Mining (OCPM). See https://www.ocel-standard.org/ for complete OCEL 2.0 input in XML, JSON, or SQLite. There is just one event table Events.csv, having event types/activities like place order, pick item, etc. There are three object types, each having a separate object table:- OT_package.csv (128 packages)- OT_item.csv (971 items)- OT_order.csv (200 orders) There are three E2O tables linking events to objects- E2O_item.csv- E2O_order.csv- E2O_package.csv The O2O relations need to be created in the transformations:Objects have an O2O relation when they share an event.- for each item there is one order (1:N)- for each item there is one package (1:N) Note that there are two ways to load events in Celonis. The more elegant way is to create an event table per event types (i.e., activity). The other, less elegant, way is to use dynamic events and use only one event table. We use the latter approach to avoid manually creating a table per event type. However, this means that we need to use dynamic events in Studio. See https://youtu.be/w7dKYFdR9C0 for an analysis of the data in Celonis, showing step-by-step the loading of the data and the analysis. Some of the screenshots are attached in the pdf file.
