Sharing in Collaborative Innovation: Dutch stakeholder perspectives on international developments in access and benefit-sharing
Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)
Abstract
In light of international developments in access and benefit-sharing (ABS), particularly around digital sequence information (DSI) on genetic resources, a consultative group was established to assess these developments and provide recommendations for their advancement. The result of this exercise is this white paper, which takes position related to current developments while also serving as the basis for further inputs to the Dutch and international ABS policy landscapes. The white paper elaborates on the group’s joint vision, which is to maintain and strengthen a system in which access to genetic resources remains possible, innovation is stimulated, and benefits - both monetary and non-monetary - are shared fairly and equitably. This concept white paper was presented during the 7th Subsidiary Body of Implementation in Nairobi.
