Making data management, privacy, and ethics documents findable - workshop materials
Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)
Abstract
Slidedeck used for the workshop 'Making data management, privacy, and ethics documents findable', which was held at the Leiden Research Support Conference 2026, Leiden University. The slides are useful for making any documents findable, not just those relating to data management, privacy, or ethics. The workshop lasted 90 minutes (a programme can be found in the slidedeck). Workshop abstract: In the workflow of research data management planning, privacy checks, and ethics reviews, there are many relevant documents, such as faculty and institute data protocols, data management plan templates, and DPIA templates. However, it can be hard to find these as well as to know what the latest or correct version is. Documents are available through the website, through Sharepoints, on Zenodo, and so on. We would like to look at the different options, their pros and cons, and best practices. The objective is for people to take away from this workshop how they can best share their documents in a way that they are findable for other research support staff and where applicable for researchers. Learning goals / workshop aims: After the workshop, the participants will: be aware of best practices for making documents findable have insights in how other people / institutes approach making documents findable Target audience: All research support staff, specifically data stewards, members of ethics committees and privacy officers. Level: The workshop is relevant to all levels of experience. Materials: The slides in PPTX and PDF format. Images that may be copyrighted were removed (which were most decorative images). Handouts: The handout with best practices for making documents findable is available on Zenodo separately: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21792910.
