Sebacina glauca Pat.

Abstract

Sebacina glauca Pat., Bulletin de la Société Mycologique de France 9: 140, 1893 Holotype. Ecuador • Pichincha, dead branches, Mar 1892, Lagerheim (FH 00060387, studied). Sebacina glauca was described from Ecuador (Patouillard and Lagerheim 1893) and it remains known from the type material only. The type specimen is in good condition and fertile. Morphological traits point to Proterochaete (especially to P. macrogyna and P. paniculata) as the most appropriate genus for S. glauca. However, we refrain from making a formal recombination of it in Proterochaete before obtaining more material and DNA sequences. Wells (1961) placed S. glauca in the synonyms of the widely defined Exidiopsis grisea (= Ulocolla grisea in the present study). However, this synonymy should be abandoned.
