Abstract

PrettyTables v3.4.3 Diff since v3.4.2 Make printing a cropped view of a table independent of the number of rows in the source table. Speed up fmt__round by skipping the non-numeric cells instead of relying on exception control flow. Avoid running the printing state iterator twice per action in the text, LaTeX, Typst, and Excel back ends. Stop retrying Tables.subset on every row when the row table does not support it. Parameterize ColumnTable and RowTable so that the cell access is no longer dynamically dispatched. Reduce the number of allocations per cell in the text back end. Reduce the time to first print, notably for pretty_table(String, ...), show(::IO, ::PrettyTable), and the first Excel export. Escape all the Typst metacharacters in a cell. Previously, only # was escaped, meaning that a [ or a ] silently broke the document. Escape ^ in the LaTeX back end as \textasciicircum{} instead of \^, which is the circumflex accent command. Escape \, [, ], <, and > in the Markdown back end. Apply the Markdown code style innermost, so that a bold or italic code span is no longer rendered with literal markers. Close the HTML table footer with , and tag the source note rows with the sourceNotes class when the table has no footnotes. Fix the Excel :print and :show renderers, which were inverted, and pass the IO context to them. Write every integer and floating point number as a native Excel value, and render nothing as a blank cell. Apply the first matching highlighter in the LaTeX back end, as documented, and pass the object the user gave to pretty_table to the highlighter callbacks in the LaTeX and Excel back ends. Support summary_rows with Tables.jl inputs and with data whose column axis is not 1-based. Fix crashes with tables without columns, tables cropped to zero rows, and tables whose width is exactly the display width. Treat maximum_number_of_columns == 0 as "no limit" in every back end. Compute the row number column width using ndigits and honor first_row_index. Validate the length of the data column width keywords in the text and Excel back ends, and reject the invalid merge cell index 0. Resolve ExcelTableFormat to backend = :excel and define fmt__excel_stringify in the package. Honor the alignment of a merged column label in the Typst back end, draw an underline for every merged label, and escape the caption. Stop the HTML diagonal continuation cell from inheriting the style of the previous cell, and keep the backslashes when allow_html_in_cells is true. Draw the bottom rule of an Excel table independently of horizontal_line_at_beginning, and set vertical_line_after_continuation_column in the vertical line macros. Do not write a file when filename is passed to pretty_table(XLSX.XLSXFile, ...). Fix the multi-line row height, a stray ANSI reset when the color is disabled, and the centering of custom text cells in the text back end. Correct the documentation that described constructors and table format presets that do not exist. Generate the automatic column labels of a matrix that has columns but no rows, which used to fail the "one label per column" validation. Fix typos and grammar in comments, docstrings, and error messages. Expand the test suite, notably covering the index vector form of the line specifications, the per-column label styles, malformed UTF-8 in a cell, and the Tables.jl wrapper edge cases, which brings src/tables.jl to full line coverage.
