Trixi.jl Model Coupling Examples

Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)

Abstract

Trixi.jl is an open‑source Julia framework for adaptive high‑order numerical simulation of hyperbolic partial differential equations, providing a modular ecosystem of discretizations, mesh infrastructures, and analysis tools. It supports structured and unstructured meshes, tree‑based adaptivity, and interfaces to external libraries such as p4est for scalable parallel simulations. This repository provides small, reproducible examples and setup helpers that expose recent model coupling and mesh‑view developments in Trixi.jl for p4est‑based adaptive meshes. It focuses on surface and bulk coupling of multiple PDE systems on non‑uniform grids, including support for multi‑variable coupling and non‑conforming (hanging‑node) interface. The examples are intentionally compact and are meant to complement, not replace, the full validation and application cases documented in the upstream Trixi.jl ecosystem and any project publications.
