X-IFU focal plane assembly development model 1.1 realization and technology development status
Space Telescopes and Instrumentation: Ultraviolet to Gamma Ray, pp. 201
Abstract
Over the last two years a FPA development model update has been realized. A flight-like detector is included. Several new technologies have been developed, which are needed for the interconnections of this detector with subsequent electronics. In collaboration with CERN the Niobium magnetic shield has been redesigned. High-density wire-bonding is demonstrated. Developments are in progress to demonstrate flight-scalable super-conducting flex cables. Vibration tests have been performed on two detector stages and mechanical vibration levels are derived at sub-system level. This paper describes the integration results and includes an outlook of demonstrations foreseen up to adoption.
