Microvibration test-program of the X-IFU focal plane assembly development model 1.1

Space Telescopes and Instrumentation: Ultraviolet to Gamma Ray, pp. 202

Abstract

This work describes the micro-vibration measurement setup realized for the XIFU Focal Plane Assembly Development Model 1.1 (FPA DM1.1). It shows an approach based on measurement of the rigid body motion at the FPA interfaces. This with the purpose to overcome the high modal density of mechanical resonances present in the commercial cryogenic test bed in the frequency range of interest. These rigid body motions are also compared to the responses predicted by Finite Element Modelling (FEM). The micro-shaker units are developed in house and optimized for cryogenic use within the 40 Hz to 1 kHz range.
