Abstract

This release accompanies the manuscript Certified but not accepted: governing the mismatch between compostable packaging claims and organic-waste systems. It provides the archived source corpus, Python coding workflow, generated analytical outputs, Supplementary Data workbook, and figure-generation scripts used in the study. Included in this release web_sources.zip: archived source corpus, including the consolidated 01_references_corpus.jsonl input file, per-source metadata, archived raw HTML/PDF files where available, extracted text files, and archive manifest. result_calculation.py: core analysis script for coding the evidence corpus and generating source-level, application-level, certification-sufficiency, sensitivity, codebook, and audit outputs. supplementary_data_generation.py: script for converting generated display CSV files into the reader-facing Supplementary_Data.xlsx workbook. figure_1_schematic.py to figure_4_certification_sufficiency.py: scripts for reproducing the four main manuscript figures. results/: generated display and audit outputs from the coding workflow. figures/: generated figure files in publication-ready formats. Supplementary_Data.xlsx: reader-facing supplementary workbook used for reporting the coded evidence and derived outputs. README.md, requirements.txt, LICENSE, and data-license notes for reproducibility and reuse. Scope The release supports reproducibility for a grey-literature analysis of operational acceptance rules for compostable packaging in organic-waste systems across 36 OECD countries. The workflow distinguishes source-level operational rules, source × application-group records, application-level compatibility, and certification sufficiency. Notes The archived public web sources are included for transparency and reproducibility. They remain third-party source materials and are not relicensed by this repository. The code is released under the repository license, while derived tabular outputs should be cited together with the manuscript and Zenodo archive.
