Semantic Interoperability Enhancement Framework for Energy Data Management

Abstract

With the development of the smart grid, a plethora of heterogeneous data, ranging from sensors to management systems, needs to be effectively integrated to achieve energy efficiency optimization and sustainable development. However, data from different sources may use varied formats, structures, and standards, leading to difficulties in integration and interaction. This work builds on knowledge graphs, ontologies and semantic methods to heterogeneous data in the energy domain to improve interoperability among different data. This paper introduces a semantic interoperability framework which generates knowledge graphs and integrates NoSQL and Relational Databases to manage and store the knowledge graph and time series data. Specific user queries are decomposed into queries for the two databases through a user interaction module, and the results are merged and presented to the user. In conclusion, a series of experiments were conducted to evaluate and compare the performance enhancements of the framework, specifically focusing on the aspects of knowledge graph generation and querying efficiency.
