Revised description. Shell small, solid, broad, subcylindrical ovate with slightly convex sides (SL/MD = 1.6–1.8). Protoconch mammillate of about 1.5 whorls, flattened, strongly tilted (~140°), with nucleus more than half covered by first teleoconch whorl. Teleoconch of about 3.5 whorls separated by deeply canaliculated suture. Spire conical (apical angle 89–105°), broad (MD/ApD = 1.5–1.6). Early teleoconch whorls cylindrical with narrow subsutural shelf, rapidly decreasing in height. Periphery placed just above mid-whorl (SL/ PH = 1.7–1.8). Last whorl inflated, 83–90% of total height, rounded shoulder, weakly convex below, rounded at rapidly contracting base. Surface smooth except for delicate, shallowly arcuate growth lines. Aperture 78–83% of total height, moderately narrow in upper third (MD/AW = 7.2–9.3), widening in anterior third (MD/MAW = 2.4–2.8), resulting in moderate expansion rate (ER = 3.0–3.6). Outer lip simple, thin, shallowly arcuate in profile, straight in upper two-thirds, rounded at base. Columella short, moderately excavated, thickened, forming narrow, adherent rim, without or with only subobsolete columellar fold, persisting continuously into narrow parietal callus. Paratethyan synonyms. Bulla clandestina Dubois de Montpéreux, 1831, from Żukowce (Zhukivtsi) (Ukraine), is a subjective junior synonym of Acteocina lichtensteinii (Eichwald, 1830). Discussion. Acteocina lichtensteinii (Eichwald, 1830) differs from all its Paratethyan congeners in its broadly barrel-shaped last whorl. It is known so far only from the late Badenian (Serravallian) of the Polish-Ukrainian Fore-Carpathian Basin, which was a hotspot of endemism at that time (Harzhauser et al. 2024a). Acteocina lichtensteinii is most probably another of these endemic species, which did not spread to other Paratethyan basins. Paleoenvironment. Inner neritic, shallow marine based on associated fauna (own data M.H.). Distribution in Central Paratethys. Badenian (Middle Miocene): Voronyaky Hills: Golubytsya (Hołubica), Yaseniv (Ukraine); Polish-Ukrainian Fore-Carpathian Basin: Biłka, Oles’ko, Tarnoruda, Zalistsi, Zhukivtsi, ravine Zhabyak (Ukraine) (Friedberg 1938).
