CloudGrab: A Python-Based Desktop Application for Retrieving Data from Cloud Storage

Abstract
We present a Windows desktop application supporting efficient retrieval of research data from S3 cloud storage. The storage is used as an external data store within an infrastructure based on the openBIS ELN-LIMS. A companion web application allows users to navigate ELN entries and select relevant datasets, which can be exported as a CSV file. The desktop application processes this file to enable automated batch downloading of files directly from cloud storage, thereby reducing manual effort and eliminating intermediate data staging.
