Retusa umbilicata

Abstract

Retusa umbilicata (Montagu, 1803) Discussion. This Pliocene to present-day species was recorded by Berger (1953: 99, pl. 17, figs 40–44) from Bad Vöslau and Vienna /Pötzleinsdorf (Austria). We have not been able to trace his illustrated specimens to clarify their status, but based on the drawings, Berger (1953) lumped different species. If some of these correspond to Retusa umbilicata as reviewed by Landau et al. (2023: pl. 35) remains unclear.
