Cambridge semitic languages and cultures, pp. 69–146
Abstract
This section is a translation of the preamble and general principles (ʾUṣūl) of the Taysīr. It introduces the seven canonical readers and their transmission paths back to the prophet muhammad, as well as the transmission paths from the author back to the seven readers. After this the section transitions to the general phonological and morphological features of each of the seven reading traditions.
