Abstract

Orchithemis pruinans (Selys, 1878) Selected references: Calothemis pruinans Selys, 1878;— Selys 1878a: 308 (original description from Bangka). Specimens collected. M1f: 1 ♂ (RER23 _326; RER), 4 x 2023; M1m: 1 ♂ (RER23 _ LIB79; RER), 16 ii 2023; 1 ♂ (RER23 _ LIB80; BRIN), 16 ii 2023; 1 ♂ (RER23 _ LIB81; UMRI), 16 ii 2023; 1 ♂ (RER23 _ LIB324; BRIN), 1 x 2023; 1 ♂ (RER23 _ LIB325; UMRI), 1 x 2023; M5a: 1 ♂ (RER23 _ LIB323; RER), 28 ix 2023; M5f: 1 ♂ (RER23 _ LIB185; UMRI), 6 vi 2023; P1b: 1 ♂ (RER23 _ LIB183; RER), 31 v 2023; P1c: 1 ♂ (RER23 _ LIB184; BRIN), 2 vi 2023. Remarks. Recorded from Riau Province for the first time, almost all Sumatran records of O. pruinans have been from Bangka-Belitung. Found at and around smaller forest streams and stream-like canals in PSF in the Kampar Peninsula. This is another species that, while certainly not confined to PSF, thrives in PSF where suitable microhabitats exist.
