Abstract

Heliaeschna sp. Specimens collected. M2f: 1 ♀ (RER23 _ AES7; RER), at lights at ca. 7:30 PM, 9 ii 2023; 1 ♀ (RER23 _ AES8; RER), at lights 6:30–7 PM, 9 ii 2023; 1 ♀ (RER23 _ AES18; RER), at lights at ca.7 PM, 3 vi 2023; 1 ♀ (RER23 _ AES19; RER), at lights at ca.7 PM, 4 vi 2023; 1 ♀ (RER23 _ AES22; RER), at lights at ca.6:40 PM, 10 vi 2023; 1 ♀ (RER23 _ AES23; RER), at lights at ca. 6:30 PM, 11 vi 2023; 1 ♀ (RER23 _ AES24; RER), found in laboratory, 15 vi 2023; 1 ♀ (RER23 _ AES25; RER), found in building, 18 vi 2023, leg Eco Camp housekeeping staff; 1 ♀ (RER23 _ AES26; RER), at lights at ca.6:30 PM, 19 vi 2023, leg Eco Camp canteen staff; M4d: 2 ♀♀ (RER23 _ AES20–21; RER), flying over road at dusk, 9 vi 2023. Remarks. In the opinion of the first author, females of H. idae and H. crassa cannot be reliably separated at this time, with the situation complicated by (possible) polymorphism in wing markings. It is therefore better to leave the females identified only to genus. Note that these undetermined specimens are not included in the count of species recorded from the Kampar Peninsula.
