Abstract

Tramea transmarina euryale (Selys, 1878) Selected references: Tramea euryale (Selys, 1878);— Selys 1889: 450 (first record from Sumatra: West Sumatra). Specimens collected. M3a: 1 ♀ (RER20 _ LIB116; RER), 17 i 2020; M3e: 1 ♂ (RER20 _ LIB118; UMRI), 24 i 2020; M7g: 1 ♂ (RER20 _ LIB117; BRIN), 23 i 2020; 1 ♂ (RER23 _ LIB257; RER), 15 vi 2023; 1 ♂, 1 ♀ (RER23 _ LIB258–259; BRIN), in tandem, 15 vi 2023. Remarks. Common at the rain-fed pond beside the Kampar River at location M7 and probably common at drains in the acacia as well, where Tramea were quite often seen but much less often captured. It cannot however simply be assumed that all red-marked Tramea seen in the Kampar Peninsula are T. transmarina euryale since other similar looking Tramea might occur there, in particular T. phaeoneura Lieftinck, 1953, which has been recorded in Belitung and might well occur in mainland Sumatra and which is most often found at low pH waters in Borneo. Recorded from Riau Province for the first time.
