Abstract

Orthetrum luzonicum (Brauer, 1868) Selected references: Libellula luzonica Brauer, 1868;— Selys 1889: 464 (first record from Sumatra: West Sumatra). Specimens collected. P5a: 1 ♂ (RER23 _ LIB201; BRIN), 21 vi 2023; 1 ♂ (RER23 _ LIB202; UMRI), 21 vi 2023. Remarks. Orthetrum luzonicum had not been recorded from Riau Province prior to this.A few individuals were present in marshy sections with long emergent grasses at the margins of the stream in the afternoon in June 2023; no individuals were recorded on a morning visit to this site in September 2023, but higher water levels made the exact parts of the stream where it was found in June very difficult to access on that visit.
