Hydraulically Controlled Pressure Amplifier for High-Pressure Isobaric and Isothermal Hydrogen Supply
Abstract
Abstract Gas flow measurements on flow resistances and valves require defined and quasi-stationary inlet conditions. Particularly in high-pressure applications, e.g. in hydrogen storage systems, meeting this requirement in component testing can be a challenge. Therefore, the paper deals with a hydraulically driven and closed-loop controlled pressure booster that enables an isobaric and isothermal high-pressure gas supply to the test object during the measurement. It includes the basic test bench principle, the dimensioning of the hydraulic drive unit, the derivation of the control scheme and the relevant equations as well as a simulative investigation of the performance of the proposed system.
