DATA-BASED ANALYSIS METHODOLOGY FOR DETERMINING POTENTIAL AREAS FOR CENTRAL HEAT SOURCES

Abstract

The implementation of the reduction targets set out in the Federal Climate Protection Act requires greenhouse gas neutrality by 2045. The heating transition, which aims to accelerate the integration of renewable energies and increase energy efficiency in the heating supply, plays a key role in this. Due to regional differences in renewable heat generation potential, analysing potential plays a key role in municipal heat planning. The main objective of this work is to develop an automated, geo-referenced approach for analysing the potential of renewable heat sources in municipal energy systems. For this purpose, a modular method for analysing potential is developed and applied in an exemplary mediumsized city in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).
