High-power converters
Abstract
This chapter presents an introduction to the main applications and some general guidelines for high-power converters. Afterwards, new thyristor-based devices are introduced that may be used in future medium-voltage power converters. Following that, a short introduction to high-power inverters and dc-dc converters is given.
