Abstract

As scientists, our ultimate goals include formulating and solving questions, developing technology, and - in case of medical science - to reduce the burden of disease. The scientific team works on these tasks and communicates the results to peers by presentations at scientific meetings and eventually by publishing in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Such a scientific paper is authored by all that made a meaningful contribution to the work, and criteria for authorship have been defined, for example by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors or ICMJE (https://www.icmje.org/recommendations/browse/roles-and-responsibilities/defining-the-role-of-authors-and-contributors.html).
