On dynamic behaviour of active distribution grids during flexibility provision
IET conference proceedings., vol. 2023, pp. 556–560
Abstract
In this paper we introduce a simulative framework to assess the dynamic behaviour of active distribution grids during flexibility provision at the TSO-DSO-interface, utilizing exemplary active power demands from within the aggregated flexibility potential of the distribution grid. The focus of this work lays on the possible effects of distribution level flexibility as a fast-responding curative congestion measure on the transient behaviour of bus voltages. We compare the outcomes of flexibility provision from a single distributed energy resource (DER) to the results of coordinating active power among multiple DERs. Results show that providing flexibility by a single DER leads to generally less deviation in bus voltages.
