Cellulosic Man-Made Fibers
Fibers, pp. 831–880
Abstract
Cellulosic man-made fibers have the highest growth rates of all fibers, even surpassing PET in recent years. All relevant (today or in the past) cellulosic man-made fibers are covered here. Chemical structure and production processes for viscose, cupro, lyocell and seacell, nitro- and nanocellulose, acetate and other fibers are explained in detail with many schematics and photos. Typical properties for a large number of different fibers are given. Further processing steps (dyeing, finishing) are described and producers and trade names are listed.
