Abstract

All relevant information on the different kinds or polyamide (e.g., PA 6, PA 6.6, PA 6.10) is summarized here. This includes a historic overview, the raw materials and production processes, fiber modification methods, the chemical structure as well as fiber properties for large number of different PA fibers. The current markets and the developments over the last decades for staple fibers and filaments and trade names are also described.
