Agile and Continuous Cost Analysis and Forecasting in the HIP3D

Abstract

Manufacturing companies are facing growing challenges due to increasing product complexity, shortened product life cycles, rising cost pressures, and changing customer needs. To react quickly and flexibly to these, it is necessary to industrialize the agile product development and start developing with uncertain requirements. A solution is the highly iterative and integrated product and production process development (HI$\text{P}^{3}$D). Putting the HI$\text{P}^{3}$D approach into practice results in a particular challenge analyzing and forecasting the cost due to dynamic changes during development. Thus, a methodology for the agile and continuous cost analysis and forecasting in the HI$\text{P}^{3}$D is presented.
