View Video Presentation: https://doi.org/10.2514/6.2022-3320.vid Air taxi services operated by vehicles that are capable of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) have recently gained increasing interest in research. The necessary infrastructure to operate air taxi services – named vertiport – constitutes of airside components, but also of a terminal and passenger processing facilities. This work provides an approach for the simulation-based analysis and evaluation of the passenger processing system at vertiports from a generic point of view. We define different scenarios for the passenger processing and simulate these scenarios considering different flight plans and respective passenger arrivals at the vertiport. The simulation results are evaluated using an adopted Level of Service concept. The evaluation shows that the check-in counters constitute the bottleneck of the system. The framework presented in this work can be applied to other vertiport configurations and specific air taxi networks.
