Abstract

Abstract The erosion of the Earth's surface deposits, soil, bedrock, and human debris, through weathering (rain, ice, wind) and gravity forms slopewash ( colluvium ) or is carried into rivers, to be borne downstream until water velocity decreases sufficiently to make the rivers gradually drop their sediment “bedload” ( alluvium ).
