Shielded-coaxial-cable (SCC) coils as highly decoupled array elements for 7T MRI
International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA), vol. 4, pp. 195
Abstract
Multichannel transceive and transmit and/or receive arrays are commonly used in ultra-high field MRI. The major challenge is to minimize the coupling between individual elements of the array, particularly when they are placed close together. Various decoupling methods have been used so far (geometrical overlapping, transformers, capacitive and/or inductive networks, preamplifier decoupling, etc.). Recently proposed decoupling paradigms include using an uneven distribution of electrical impedances around the length of the loop [1] and high impedance coils [2]. Another challenge is to build flexible elements that can conform particular anatomy (for example, neck region).
