Abstract
Abstract More than 80 young professionals and students from around the world attended the 1st Virtual African Young Professionals and Students Geoscience Week, which took place 21–26 September 2020. Participants were from Argentina, Brazil, Congo, Germany, Ghana, Indonesia, Kenya, Malawi, Mexico, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, the United States, and Zimbabwe. Figure 1 shows a distribution map of the represented locations. A total of 12 speakers presented on a variety of interesting topics throughout the week.
