Multi-Staged, Multi-Objective Optimization for Operation Management in Line-less Mobile Assembly Systems (LMAS)
Procedia CIRP, vol. 93, pp. 1121–1126
Abstract
Manufacturing companies are often forced to higher levels of production system’s transformation abilities by competitive circumstances in industrial assembly. The Line-less Mobile Assembly System (LMAS) principle, taking advantage of mobilization of productive resources, maximizing responsiveness to market trends, was previously introduced. To date, determining resource assignment, locations and scheduling problems as raised by this principle, are treated separately. Therefore, an integrated mixed-integer program (MIP) is proposed. For system state description as optimization input, an operation management framework is necessary, contrary to the classic automation pyramid. Model-validation is performed based on industry-data for both, mapping accuracy and identifying economic advantages.
