Image processing method for expanding an image
Abstract
The invention relates to an image processing method for extending an image which is used, in particular, in a video coding method, and to an associated computer program. The image processing method comprises determining a first target region in the extension region, determining a template region, wherein the template region lies in the image and adjoins the first target region, searching for a region similar to the template region in the image; determining a first source region which has the same position relative to the similar region as the template region has relative to the first target region; generating image information for the first target region on the basis of image information of the first source region; determining a second target region in the extension region, wherein the second target region adjoins the first target region perpendicularly to the image boundary; and generating image information for the second target region on the basis of image information of a second source region, wherein the second source region has the same position relative to the second target region as the first source region has relative to the first target region.
